My name is Alex Moy and I moved from En g land in 2001 to Carcassonne in the South of France , where my wife is from. We have 3 children—all under 8.

  A fter searching for a piece of l and for one year we eventually found a suitable site and many of the things written below all happened to us as we learned (sometimes the hard way!) how the whole thing worked.

  A lthough it can be a very easy and smooth ride , there are many mino r pitfalls to be considered. In fact we were not on the top of the list for the pi e ce of land that we bought but the estate agent, because my wife is Fr en ch and the others were foreign , decided to let us have it.

  I am in the process of constructing a house on this land and have helped investors purchase properties in Bulgaria , Croatia, Spain, Turkey, Montenegro and other countries. I have personally been to a ll these locations for purposes of my own due diligence.  

I continue to research the local markets and have access to:

·  local contacts

·  places where people can stay while researching houses and land

·  contacts with banks , lawyers, construct ion companies , estate agents, and developers.  

I also have a keen eye for good pieces of land and knowledge of emerging hotspots .
